Monet often lamented the fact that he spent his life
trying to capture the elusive essence of water. Capturing the perfect wave, or waterfall, or ocean sunset, is an immensely
challenging goal for all plein air and landscape artists. It is only when an artist becomes completely satisfied with his
achievements, that he unwittingly has failed his goals.
